Sustainable Agriculture Awards

LPLM recognises outstanding contributions to and achievements in sustainable agriculture through our annual awards program.

  • The Applied Science Award - for a researcher who has added to our understanding of our landscape, and helped us develop better management systems 
  • The Landcare Achievement Award - for individuals and groups who have excelled in improving community capacity and natural resource management, and 
  • Certificates of Achievement - for landholders who have completed their Land Management Tenders Projects

LPLM selects each award recipient from the extensive network of researchers, individuals and groups with whom they work each year. Awards are presented at each Annual General Meeting.

Award Winners 2009

The Applied Science Award was won by John Hosking, NSW Dept. of Primary Industries Tamworth Agricultural Institute Principal Research Scientist Weeds & Centre Director for his work with Native pastures species of the Liverpool Plains.

The Landcare Achievement Award was won by Boggabri Landcare/Rivercare Group for working as a group to stabilise and restore the Namoi River bank, and extensive revegatation.
